UPN’s Freedom ran for just eleven weeks during the 2000-2001 season; only seven of the twelve episodes produced were broadcast (the other four weeks were filled with repeats). I discussed in my article about Freedom why I find it such an interesting — albeit very recent compared to most of the other shows I’ve written about — obscurity.

Apparently, while Freedom was first on the air, UPN promoted the series by giving away a Playstation 2 to a lucky viewer (or viewers, as the case may be). I believe these advertisements ran during November of 2000 but I can’t say for sure if they aired nationally or only in select markets. The second features actress Scarlett Chorvat, who played Becca Shaw, announcing the winner.

I almost feel a little embarrassed for Scarlett Chorvat, having to say “If your name is encrypted below” as if there really was more to it than a simple contest.
