Although The Green Hornet was never as popular as Batman and ran for just 26 episodes during the 1966-1967 season there was a considerable amount of tie-in merchandise released while the show was on the air, including trading cards, puzzles, coloring books, and toys. There was also a set of 44 stickers issued by Topps. Here’s the registry page at the Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA) website for the set.
I’ve scanned four of the stickers from my TV memorabilia collection:
Did you collect these stickers back in the 1960s? Were they plastered school books and lockers?
I loved the Green Hornet. Didn’t he have some type of special little gun (I can’t remember what it did)?
The Green Hornet had a pistol that shot green knockout gas, and a “Hornet Sting,” a telescoping rod that emitted a high-pitched sound that caused things to explode. Mostly he used it to blow open locked doors, but once he destroyed a crook’s machine gun with it. He’d also use the rod as a baton in fistfights.
And Kato had those nifty little darts he threw…
