    W2XBS Schedule, Week of January 21st, 1940


    Here’s the schedule for NBC’s experimental station W2XBS in New York City for the week of January 21st, 1940. I would love to see “Frozen Alive,” in which “a girl is sealed in a cake of ice.” Sounds dangerous.

    Sunday, January 21st, 1940
    2:30-3:42: Film, “School for Husbands,” with Rex Harrison, Diana Churchill, June Clye and Romney Brent.
    8:30-9:30: Play, “Babes in Arms,” with Ray Heatherton, Duke McHale, Betty Lou, June Havoc, Lulu McConnell and Jerry Mann.

    Wednesday, January 24th, 1940
    2:30-3:30: Views and interviews at La Guardia Field.
    8:30-9:30: “Weights and Measures”–three reporters ask questions about crooked scales, etc.; “Frozen Alive,” a girl is sealed in a cake of ice; Guides and Pages’ Minstrel Show, with models from the Beaux Arts Ball.

    Thursday, January 25th, 1940
    8:30-10:00: Wrestling at Ridgewood Grove.

    Friday, January 26th, 1940
    2:30-3:30: Films, March of Time, “Battle Fleets of England”; “Burn ‘Em Up Barnes”; “Carrie Jacobs Bond.”
