Gale Storm (1922-2009)

The Los Angeles Times is reporting that Gale Storm, who starred in two sitcoms back-to-back during the 1950s, has passed away at the age of 87.

She starred in My Little Margie from 1952 to 1955 and The Gale Storm Show (syndicated as Oh! Susanna) from 1956 to 1960. Prior to television, Storm appeared in dozens of movies. She was also a talented singer and released several popular records.

  1. Yes, Gale was a very wonderful and talented woman. I’ve read her 1981 autobiography, “I Ain’t Down Yet”, detailing her life and her battle with alcoholism in the ’70s. She really hadn’t done much of anything in the past few years, other than correspond with some of her cloest fans and monitor her website. Most people today don’t even know who she IS, because “MY LITTLE MARGIE” and “THE GALE STORM SHOW” aren’t as widely seen as, say, one of Michael Jackson’s videos are now. Either you have “constant exposure” on TV (especially in reruns) or you simply “don’t exist”…
