William Fitzgerald Jenkins}, a celebrated "sci-fi" writer [one of his short stories, "A Logic Named Joe", was dramatized twice- using the same script- on NBC radio's "DIMENSION X" (1950) and "X MINUS ONE" (1955)], wrote an original story for his second "LAND OF THE GIANTS" novel, and was not adapted from any previous script. Same with his "TIME TUNNEL" novels a few years before- "Leinster" was given a description of the characters and briefed on the story line, and he created two original novels based on the series (in his stories, though, "Tony Newman" & "Doug Phillips" have the ability to return to the present, instead of being "stranded in time").
