W2XBS Schedule, Week of May 21st, 1939

Once again I can only provide a sketchy schedule for NBC’s experimental station W2XBS in New York City for the week beginning Sunday, May 21st, 1939. Radio listings in The New York Times included television broadcasts except for Sunday, Monday and Saturday. Whether that means there was actually nothing on the air or not I can’t say.

Unlike previous weeks, when I assumed that W2XBS would stick to the schedule it announced on April 30th, I am only going to include the actual listings from The New York Times from now on.

Despite Tuesday and Thursday being filled only with blocks of films, there was still quite a bit of interesting television to be seen in New York City if you happened to have a set. A marionette show, a ballet lesson, some singing, a drama titled “Game of Chess,” an actress showing off hair styles and even a sporting event.
