Here’s the schedule for station WTMJ-TV in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for the week starting Sunday, December 7th, 1947, straight from the weekly television listings printed in The Milwaukee Journal [1]. The station had debuted the previous week and thus this was its first full week on the air, although it didn’t broadcast on Mondays and Tuesdays. Notice that a film short titled Pearl Harbor was broadcast on Sunday, December 7th — the sixth anniversary of the attack on the United States naval base in Hawaii. Otherwise, the weekly schedule was starting to shape up. One program, Meet Your Neighbor, was seen Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. News was broadcast twice daily with the exception of Sundays. Teen Age Time may actually have premiered the previous week although television listings for that day do not include it. It was a variety/discussion program.
