Every Tuesday I take a look at obscure and/or classic television programs, specials, miniseries or made-for-TV movies being released on DVD. For the record I consider anything broadcast prior to 1980 to be classic or else there wouldn’t be much to discuss. The releases referred to in these posts are encoded for Region 1 use in the United States and Canada.
There are three releases of interest to fans of classic television out today and I’ll discuss them in no particular order. First, from Paramount Home Entertainment, is My Three Sons: Season Two, Vol. 2, with the remaining 18 episodes from the 1961-1962 season. I haven’t seen any reviews of the set yet but previous releases have included substituted music, so keep that in mind. Next, from Shout! Factory, comes Leave it to Beaver: Season Three, with all 39 episodes from the 1959-1960 season. Interestingly, while the fourth season doesn’t come out until September of this year (and the remaining two seasons have not yet been announced), Shout! Factory will be issuing a complete series set later this month. Finally, from MPI Home Video comes Here’s Lucy: Season Three, with all 24 episodes from the 1970-1971 season.
