Every Tuesday I take a look at obscure and/or classic television programs, specials, miniseries or made-for-TV movies being released on DVD or Blu-ray. For the record I consider anything broadcast prior to 1980 to be classic or else there wouldn’t be much to discuss. The releases referred to in these posts are encoded for Region 1 use in the United States and Canada.
Paramount has three new releases out today and together they make up two new season sets. First, there’s Mannix – The Seventh Season, which includes all 24 episodes from the 1973-1974 season (the show’s seventh, out of eight total). Second, there’s The Streets of San Francisco – Season 3, Volume 1 and The Streets of San Francisco – Season 3, Volume 2, which together include all 23 episodes from the 1974-1975 season (the show’s third, out of five total). Season 2 was released back in 2008 but luckily for fans of the show, Season 4 is just around the corner; it will be released in two volumes next month.
