Frequent commenter DuMont has provided additional information on the FOX fall preview special as well as the CBS and The CW specials that I was unaware of. Here are the full details on all the specials:
This special will be hosted by Mario Batali, Michael Symon, Carla Hall, Clinton Kelly and Daphne Oz, otherwise known as the hosts of ABC’s daytime talk show The Chew. As the title suggests, it will air in prime time on Sunday, September 2nd from 7-8PM. Read the full press release here.
A half-hour special that will be carried across the full CBS network on Monday, September 10th at 8:30 pm. CBS is continuing its tradition of crossing-over with one of its series, and this year the honour goes to ‘Two Broke Girls’. The ‘CBS Fall Preview Sneak Peek’ this year will be hosted by the two stars of ‘Two Broke Girls’, Miss Kat Dennings and Miss Beth Behrs.
Matthew Perry will host this presumably half-hour special which will not be seen nationally in prime time. Instead, it will be seen on local NBC affiliates through September 30th as well as cable channels, affiliate websites, NBC.com and selected American Airlines flights. Check your local listings. A half-hour affiliate special hosted by Mr. Ike Barinholtz, one of the stars of FOX’s MADtv. The special begins rolling out in early September.
A half-hour affiliate special that will feature the new fall and mid-season series coming up on The CW. CW affiliates commenced running this special Sunday August 19th.
Here’s an update concerning this update-
*CBS did NOT telecast their “Sneak Peek” nationally on September 10th, due to last-minute prime-time scheduling of coverage of the U.S. Open Men’s Finals. However, WCBS-TV in New York aired it locally on Saturday, September 15th, at 1pm(nyt).
*A half-hour edition of ABC’s “Primetime Fall Preview Special” aired locally on WABC-TV in New York on Sunday, September 23rd, at 1:30pm(nyt).
Mr. Grauman, CBS did in fact air their ‘CBS Fall Preview Sneak Peek’ on both coasts and it garnered a national rating of 2.4HH/4%, 0.9 A18-49, 3,530,000 P2+. The east coast version got bumped back by the tennis overrun, but did air on the east coast later that night (around 9:45 pm as I remember). And the west coast version aired at 8:30 pm PST as originally skedded.
And you’re correct about the ‘CBS Fall Preview Sneak Peek’ airing after Sept.10th as an affiliate special as the Eye made it available to all affiliates to sked in their own dayparts.
