Every Tuesday I take a look at obscure and/or classic television programs, specials, miniseries or made-for-TV movies being released on DVD or Blu-ray. For the record I consider anything broadcast prior to 1980 to be classic or else there wouldn’t be much to discuss. The releases referred to in these posts are encoded for Region 1 use in the United States and Canada.
At one point, it looked like Visual Entertainment Inc. would be releasing two complete series sets today, but both have been delayed. McMillan & Wife – The Complete Series will now be released on November 30th while In Search Of… – The Complete Collection will be released on December 4th. At least unless they’re delayed again.
A set actually out today is Paramount Home Video’s Perry Mason – The 8th Season, Volume 1, which includes the first 15 episodes of the 1964-1965 season.
Finally, Alpha Video also has three new single-disc releases out today, all of which are manufacture on demand (MOD): Golden Age of Television, Volume 10, Medic – Volume 7 and The Trouble with Father – Volume 7.
