Preserving What Remains of Bay Area TV News History

KQED News has an interesting story about the San Francisco Bay Area Television Archive, which contains some 4,000 hours of footage from San Francisco television stations like KQED, KTVU and KRON.

Over 200 hours have been digitized and are available for viewing online. Reporter Sam Harnett spoke with archivist Alex Cherian about film from the 1960s saved by a KRON editor as well as the disappointing end to a search for what may have been the final interview given by Robert Kennedy.
