WCBW Schedule, Week of October 5th, 1941

Here’s the schedule for WCBW, the CBS station in New York City, for the week starting Sunday, October 5th, 1941, straight from daily television listings printed in The New York Times. As always, the station was off the air on Sunday.

Monday’s Men at Work variety show featured the four singing Le Ahn Sisters and animal impressionist Donald Bain, among others.
Bob Edge interviewed New York Yankees pitcher Vernon “Lefty” Gomez during his Tuesday sports program.

For the first time, the listings referred to Helen Sioussat’s Wednesday series as Table Talk with Helen Sioussat. The listings also included a discussion topic for the first time. Morris Ernst, Michael Strange, John F. Finerty and George Counts joined Sioussat to tackle a question relating to the war in Europe: “Are the Lease-Lend Bill and the Neutrality Act Incompatible?”

The daily children’s story this week was an adaptation of Jules Verne’s 1873 novel Around the World in Eighty Days.
