This particular commercial break aired during NBC Nightly News (6:30-7PM ET). Included is a commercial and an NBC network promotional spot.

Here’s a transcript:

[Alka-Seltzer Commercial] “I said to the man, ‘Give me the stuffed peppers.’ He says, ‘You’re making a big mistake.’ I says, ‘But I love stuffed peppers.’ He says, ‘You’re making a big mistake.’ I said, ‘Listen, I know what I want and I want the stuffed peppers.’ I made a big mistake. Football action later in the Rose Bowl. The undefeated Trojans from USC take on the rugged Big 10 champs from Ohio State. Then down to Miami for the Orange Bowl where the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame battle the Nebraska Cornhuskers. The parade beginning at 10AM, 9 central time. Football action beginning at 4:45, 3:45 central time. Right here on NBC.

  1. Alka Seltzer used to have the best commercials. Remember “Spicy Meatball”, “Try It, You’ll Like It”, and of course we can’t forget “I Can’t Believe I Ate That Whole Thing [You Ate It, Ralph].
