  1. I’m surprised to see some of these programs listed here, like ODD COUPLE & STREETS OF SAN FRANCISCO. Obviously their ratings improved a lot, as did THE WALTONS, which ended up beating Flip Wilson’s show in the ratings before long.

    1. Yes, “The Waltons” was predicted to barely last 13 weeks against “The Flip Wilson Show.” It was one of those rare shows that became a big hit against all odds.

    2. THE ODD COUPLE survived five seasons on ABC without being a world beater–Tony Randall did give a raspberry to them when accepting an Emmy for playing Felix, post-cancellation.
