November 2017: The Month in Home Media

November 2017 saw the release of The Immortal (ABC, 1970-1971) on DVD as well as D.C. Follies (Syndicated, 1987-1989]. Several recent obscurities were also released on DVD last month, including Galavant (ABC, 2015-2016) and Grandfathered (FOX, 2015-2016).

Highlight of the Month: The Immortal

The Immortal ran for 15 episodes on ABC during the 1970-1971 season. Christopher George stars as Ben Richards, a man who learns he is immune to all disease and the effects of aging. The source of his near immortality is his blood and a billionaire named Arthur Maitland (played by David Brian) hopes to use Ben’s blood to keep himself young and healthy. Maitland hires a man named Fletcher (played by Don Knight) to chase after Ben.

The 3-disc set also includes the pilot telefilm for the series.

News

Kino Lorber has announced a release date for The Master (NBC, 1984) on DVD and Blu-ray: February 20th, 2018. The series starred Lee Van Cleef, Timothy Van Patten, and Sho Kosugi. It ran for just 13 episodes (TVShowsOnDVD.com).

  1. The Master Complete Series set sounded great, but I’ll stick to the four episodes that they reedited into two TV-movies that MST3K did!!!
