      It was so neat to see those car commercials (imagine what those cars in good condition would be worth today)

      I never knew the Monkees did commercials and of course it would be something for kids.

      And Telly Savalas was just cool doing his commercial, it was as if you’d see him when you got to Vegas using that credit card.

      The Monkees originally appeared in several “integrated commercials” at the end of their program (1966-’68) for their co-sponsors, Kellogg’s and Yardley Cosmetics, ‘Cee Jay’, so appearing in the above 1969 Kool-Aid spot, minus Peter (primarily seen during the CBS Saturday morning repeats of their show), was nothing new…and it was among their last.

      “Tennessee Ernie” Ford starred in “THE FORD SHOW” on NBC between 1956 and ‘61, and was their “spokesman” in most of their ads during that period- especially in this spring 1957 spot for the various Ford station wagons…
