Every Tuesday I take a look at obscure and/or classic television programs, specials, miniseries or made-for-TV movies being released on DVD or Blu-ray. For the record I consider anything broadcast prior to 1980 to be classic or else there wouldn’t be much to discuss. The releases referred to in these posts are encoded for Region 1 use in the United States and Canada.
Out today from Timeless Media Group is Yancy Derringer – The Complete Series, a 4-disc set containing all 34 half-hour episodes of this Western broadcast by CBS during the 1958-1959 season. The set was originally scheduled for release in August but was pushed back.
Also out today, from Paramount Home Video, is The Lucy Show – The Official Sixth and Final Season/ The 4-disc set contains all 24 episodes from the 1968-1969 season. From Image Entertainment comes Combat! – Fan Favorites (50th Anniversary), a 4-disc set containing 20 “best of” episodes originally broadcast between 1962 to 1967.
Finally, BBC Home Entertainment is releasing another Doctor Who serial: “The Ambassadors of Death” (Story #053, 1970, Jon Pertwee as The Doctor).
