WCBW Schedule, Week of October 26th, 1941

Here’s the schedule for WCBW, the CBS station in New York City, for the week starting Sunday, October 26th, 1941, straight from daily television listings printed in The New York Times. As always, the station was off the air on Sunday.

Yet again, it was a typical week for WCBW. Burl Ives was one of the guests on Monday’s Men at Work variety show, alongside singer John Hoygradt, a marionette act by Sue Hastings, and Indian Dances.

There were three Museum of Modern Art programs this week: the regular Tuesday and Thursday installments as well as a third in place of the National Defense Program on Friday.

Bob Edge once again covered badminton during his Friday sports program.

Jules Verne’s Around the World in 80 Days was, for the fourth week in a row, adapted for the station’s daily children’s story. According to the Friday listings, that day’s installment was “Around the World by Airplane Today,” perhaps a particular chapter from Verne’s novel or some sort of continuation.
