June 2023 marks the 75th anniversary of television in Connecticut. To celebrate, each Friday this month I’ll share two or three local promotional spots, commercials, or other videos spotlighting Connecticut TV.
From the Television Obscurities YouTube channel, here’s the closing to The Big Movie on WTXX-TV (Channel 20) in Connecticut, from Tuesday, May 6th, 1986. That night, WTXX-TV aired the second half of the 1979 miniseries Salem’s Lot from 8-10PM ET. The closing credits include a voiceover promotional spot for Star Trek, which aired from 10-11PM ET.
