Here are some more images from The Interns that I couldn’t fit into my article about the series. I’m not sure when the show was last seen in syndication but it has probably been quite a few years. It’s not likely to make it to DVD any time soon but unlike many of the shows I write about, there doesn’t seem to be a very big fan base for The Interns. Also, although prolific television tie-in writer William Johnston wrote the novelization of 1964′s The New Interns (sequel to the 1962 adaptation of Richard Frede’s The Interns) as far as I can tell there were no tie-ins connected to the series.

Since the series lasted only 24 episodes, it was sporadically seen in syndication on a few stations over the years (including Screen Gems’ “HERE COME THE BRIDES”, which lasted two seasons), but not many. The fact there weren’t any paperback “adaptations” of the series proves it wasn’t reallly THAT popular enough to warrant any. If Sony ever releases “THE INTERNS” on DVD, Mike {“M*A*S*H”} Farrell will definitely be their “selling point” ["See 'BJ' BEFORE he became 'BJ'!"]. The reason there’s no “fan base” is because hardly anyone these days KNOWS about the show.
