TV Guide – Behind the Scenes of the 1964-1965 Season
For a time during the 1960s, TV Guide would often include something it called a Picture Feature. It wasn’t present in every issue and even when it was, it didn’t always go behind the scenes of network television shows. But it often did. Here are seven Picture Features from TV Guide covering the 1964-1965 television season.
August 22nd, 1964 – “Making Quite a Splash in a New Series”

October 31st, 1964 – “Building Gilligan’s Island”

An uncharted desert isle is constructed for the new show Gilligan’s Island.
March 13th, 1965 – “Walter Brennan Plays a Statue

Walter Brennan is turned into a statue for an episode of his show The Tycoon.
May 8th, 1965 – “Hollywood on Wheels”

Television stars including Bill Bixby, Fess Parker and Richard Chamberlain ride bicycles on and between Hollywood studios for fun and food.
July 17th, 1965 – “Bob Denver Takes a Dive”
