Six Years of Television Obscurities

I can’t believe I almost forgot about the anniversary of Television Obscurities. Six years ago last Thursday — June 11th, 2003 to June 11th, 2009 — I launched the first version of this website using a freebie web host (I think it was Tripod.com). I can only hope nobody remembers the awful layout and the poorly written articles. Not to mention the atrocious quality of the RealMedia video clips.

Now, six years later, I’d like to think I have a simple but effective layout. And I’ve rewritten (sometimes more than once) all of my articles. Plus, all my videos are now better quality using the Flash format. I’m incredibly proud of what Television Obscurities has become and how it has grown over the past six years.

My one aim now is to somehow encourage more people to comment on a regular basis. If anyone has ideas about enticing such comments, please be sure to let me know.

  1. Congratualations! I’m sorry I wasn’t in at the beginning of your website, but I’m just as happy to be commenting on it now! Whatever you discuss, I’ll be ready to offer any comments and additional information….

  2. Yes, Congratulations on your anniversary. I check just about every day for new subject matter. Love the site and your passion for such a subject. I maintain a web site myself, (not really relevant to provide link), and I know how much work goes into research, writing, posting, etc. for a web site that is driven by pure passion and love for a genre. Once again, thank you very much for sharing your interests!

  3. Congratulations on your anniversary. I just stumbled on your website. I am a bit of a TV junkie and have enjoyed your columns immensely. Keep up the great work!
