DVD Tuesday: The Love Boat, Elvis on The Ed Sullivan Show

It’s a bit of a slow week with only one new series release and only half a season at that: The Love Boat: Season Two, Vol. 2. Season Two, Vol. 1 was released on January 27th of this year so it’s unlikely that we’ll see another half season out this year. The only other classic release is Elvis Presley: The Ed Sullivan Shows: The Performances. This appears to include only the footage of Presley’s actual performances and not the three full episodes. Those were released in a three-disc set on November 21st, 2006 as Elvis Presley – Ed Sullivan Shows.

You can read a list of the bonus features here. According to that page the running time on this release is 46.33. If you’re an Elvis Presley fan and didn’t want to buy the complete episodes, here’s your chance to add Presley’s performances to your collection.

  1. The full-length Beatles episodes were released some years ago on DVD. To me, getting an edited version over the full-length original episodes is crazy but I guess there are some music buffs who just don’t want to bother with the other things that made the Sullivan show great.
