SEARCH Coming to DVD [Updated]

Is SEARCH coming to DVD? The answer seems to be yes. No details are available but Warner Archive posted the following video to its YouTube channel revealing that SEARCH is on its way:

SEARCH ran for one season on NBC from 1972 to 1973. It starred Hugh O’Brian, Tony Franciosa and Doug McClure as high-tech private investigators working for World Securities Corporation. The pilot telefilm, Probe, was released on DVD by Warner Archive in 2011. You can find an in-depth article about the series here.

The announcement that SEARCH is coming to DVD at all will be welcome to news to the show’s fans. I’ll be keeping an eye on this and will post any information about release date and price as it becomes available.

(Thanks to Jim.)

February 5th, 2014 Update:

Warner Archive has started selling the 6-disc set online via WBShop.com for $49.95 (plus another $14.95 if you want to buy the pilot telefilm separately). Do note that both sets are manufacture-on-demand (MOD) releases.

  1. I managed to finally get and watch SEARCH after so many years and even though it is not as that profound as I remember it, as a 10-year-old, I still found it very enjoyable and could not understant why NBC didn’t at least try to give it another season.
