Here’s an interesting behind-the-scenes promotional spot for ABC’s short-lived The Young Rebels, which ran for 15 episodes during the 1970-1971 TV season.
Check out my in-depth article about The Young Rebels.
I believe the behind-the-scenes footage is from the episode “The Hostages” with Eric Braeden flubbing as line as British Major Zanker.

When I was young my family never watched The Young Rebels. Over the years I’ve learned a bit about history (though I’m no expert on the American Revolution) and I just went to YouTube and watched a few short clips of The Young Rebels episodes. What little I saw seemed a bit awkward, but I hope it got the intended audience thinking about history. Next year will be the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, so it would be a good time for someone to locate this series, along with Daniel Boone (the only other series I can think of set in the same time period – Northwest Passage was a couple decades earlier) and see if the series can attract an audience briefly interested in the 1770s.
a reminder that the YOUNG REBELS filled a Sunday nite roster to contrast regular genres….I never thought live it would take on for an extended run….hence the many many subsequent american live *** stuff started with the wooden YOU ARE THERE series.. which was too muddled for its own good. it may be worth a look to see the complete series to see their minds clicking away….Disney’s JOHNNY TREMAIN led to a host f transferred childrens book stuff……In the last 10 years a host of recreation type series have improved on this type drama emmencely.. is it on DVD yet??
in consideration/ r-evaluation the pop== music background was painfully anachronistic….((…immitating the vocalize ==scat music of advertising which was used at that very age…just listen to the New Peoples sound!-or-tv spots with Sandy Duncan etc…dated…….
