Every Tuesday I take a look at obscure and/or classic television programs, specials, miniseries or made-for-TV movies being released on DVD or Blu-ray. For the record I consider anything broadcast prior to 1980 to be classic or else there wouldn’t be much to discuss. The releases referred to in these posts are encoded for Region 1 use in the United States and Canada.
Out today from CBS Home Entertainment is Bonanza – The Official Third Season in two half-season sets. Volume 1 contains the first 18 episodes from the 1961-1962 season with the remaining 16 found in Volume 2. Both sets are also available as a special “value pack.” Season Two was released in two volumes as well, in December of 2010 and October of 2011, respectively. CBS Home Entertainment has already announced that Season Four will be released on October 2nd, again as two half-season sets.
