The software I use to keep track of statistics uses “keyphrases” to describe a bunch of words that, when entered into a search engine, lead to this site. I’m not sure why one of them is a single word (it also appears in the list of most used keywords). Here are the top ten keyphrases from 2009:

It’s interesting that so many people use some variation of the term television obscurities. When I decided to use it as the name of this website I thought it was fairly unusual. Apparently a lot of people feel certain television programs are obscure and, luckily for me, want to know more about them. Here are some additional keyphrases I felt were interesting or unusual:

- 1953 singer fired on live tv
- tv show main character s name is jesse eyeball follows him around
- joi lansing playboy
- dan haggerty beard on fire
- batman tv show cowl and batgirl cowl

I had no idea there were so many people who want to see Stefanie Powers tied up.
Okay, “character’s name is jesse (and) eyeball follows him around” was “HARD TIME ON PLANET EARTH”, produced by Disney for CBS in early 1989 [13 episodes]; “1953 singer fired on live tv” is obviously Julius LaRosa on “ARTHUR GODFREY TIME” [10/19/53]- only the radio simulcast of the incident is currently available.
I am often surprised at what leads people to the site. Bing.com is my search engine of choice these days and if you type in “mike wallace mickey cohen” (without the quotes) Television Obscurities is the very first result. Try “rhoda the robot” and Television Obscurities is fifth. There were at least three other versions of “adult bloopers,” which suggests something, and one other version of “dan haggerty beard on fire,” I believe.
Whatever leads people to the site is fine with me as long as they stick around once they get here.
