Here’s the schedule for station WTMJ-TV in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for the week starting Sunday, March 14th, 1948, straight from the weekly television listings printed in The Milwaukee Journal. The station was off the air on Mondays and Tuesdays. According to a brief article published in the Sunday, March 14th edition of The Milwaukee Journal, there were a total of 1,666 television sets had been installed in the Milwaukee area, an increase of almost 400 since February [1]. The station introduced some big changes during the week, aimed primarily at younger viewers.

Beginning Wednesday, March 17th, it shifted the start of its afternoon programs from 2PM to 3PM. Every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoon at 4PM a new show called The Children’s Corner, which combined both live and filmed segments, would run for 15 minutes. Depending on the day of the week, one or more additional children’s programs followed:

Wednesday: Norman Clayton, songs and games.
Thursday: Little Amateurs, children ages of 4 and 7 hosted by Carl Nelson; Cartoon Fun.
