WCBW Schedule, Week of September 7th, 1941

Here’s the schedule for WCBW, the CBS station in New York City, for the week starting Sunday, September 7th, 1941, straight from daily television listings printed in The New York Times. As usual, the station was off the air on Sunday.

It was another typical week for the station. The regular Men at Work variety show aired as usual on Monday but no details were published in that day’s listings. On Tuesday, Bob Edge interviewed boxer Freddie “Red” Cochrane, at the time the World Champion in the welterweight division (he won the title after a July 29, 1941 fight with Fritzie Zivic).

On Wednesday, Helen Sioussat interviewed four people: journalist Dorothy Dunbar Bromley, architect Sydney Hertzberger, literary critic Gorham Munson, and war correspondent William L. Shirer (one of “Murrow’s Boys”).

The National Defense Show returned on Friday.
