From the Television Obscurities YouTube channel, here’s a promotional spot for ABC’s coverage of the January 20th, 1953 presidential inauguration of Dwight D. Eisenhower.

I think you embedded the wrong video ;)
I sure did. I’ve fixed it. Thanks.
ABC’s coverage of the 1953 Eisenhower inauguration was probably not seen on more than about twenty stations.
It’s my understanding that there were only about twenty stations then who had exclusive affiliations with ABC-TV (meaning they didn’t have affiliations with any other network); most ABC affiliates were also affiliated with either CBS, NBC, or DuMont, and as such, likely would have picked the CBS or NBC inauguration broadcast over that of ABC.
I suspect that for Eisenhower’s second inauguration in 1957, ABC had enough exclusive affiliates that it’s broadcast was probably seen on at least 120 stations; maybe more.
Proably the CBS and NBC stations went with the bigger networks in 1953, but Dumont never really had a news department so stations like WFIL in Philadelphia would have to carry ABC coverage!!
