  1. Bridget Loves Bernie was a huge hit in the Neilsen’s in the 1972-73 season but was cancelled due to complaints, primarily from Jewish groups, which look down on interreligious marriage.

    1. Its cancellation paved the way for CBS to move M*A*S*H into that timeslot the next year and created the “murderer’s row” lineup of All in the Family, M*A*S*H, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Bob Newhart Show and The Carol Burnett Show. I was very young, but I remember my parents watching them all (When they were home on Saturday night). M*A*S*H would be a smash hit for years to come thanks to that scheduling move

  2. I just saw a few episodes of this show recently on MeTV Plus. Oddly enough the first episode I saw on that network was “The Newlybeds” (OAD 10/21/1972), which is the only episode that I remember seeing of this show during its initial run. I watched & recorded a few episodes of this show until U-Verse moved the network TVWest (another MeTV subchannel) in its place.
