Audio Vault: WTTV Commercial Break (December 1972)

Here’s audio from a December 1972 commercial break aired on independent TV station WTTV (Channel 4) in Indianapolis, Indiana:

I don’t know exactly when this commercial break aired due to lack of information about the recording. Based on the inclusion of an “In Memory” spot for President Harry S Truman (who died on December 26th, 1972), it likely aired either on December 26th or December 27th, 1972. It includes a PSA for the American Foundation for the Blind and the aforementioned memorial spot for President Truman.

Here’s a transcript:

[American Foundation for the Blind PSA] Her wedding will be just as lovely and joyful as any other wedding. Her mother will give her a hand in getting the wedding gown ready. It doesn’t even matter that her mother is blind.

Yes, Mrs. Crane’s handicap gets in the way of getting things done. But she’s learned to adapt the way scores of other blind people do with handy aids and appliances such as a tape measure with raised markings. A specially marked sewing box for different colored threads. Easy to thread or self-threaded needles.

These and other aids and appliances to help blind people are available from the American Foundation for the Blind.

“Take the mirror please.”
“Does it look straight to you?
“Yes.”

[In Memory of Harry S Truman] In memory of a great American, our 33rd President, Harry S Truman.

  1. I had noticed as YouTube lost a majority of classic TV shows due to copyright strikes, I hope Rumble and Odysee were destined to be the next classic TV video uploaders.
