Telemundo Launches Spanish Language Classic TV Diginet

The Telemundo Station Group officially announced today the launch of TeleXitos, a new Spanish-language digital specialty network that will offer a mix of action/adventure TV shows and movies. An official press release can be found here. The diginet will initially be available on the 16 Telemundo owned-and-operated stations, reaching almost 20 million households but eventually will be offered to other stations across the country. It replaces Exitos, a diginet that repeated telenovelas originally broadcast on Telemundo.

I can’t read much Spanish but based on the official TeleXitos Facebook page, it looks like the diginet may have had a soft launch on Monday, November 10th.

TVNewsCheck is calling TeleXitos a classic TV diginet like Cozi TV, Antenna TV, and Me-TV. The press release does state it will air TV shows and movies from the 1970s through the 2000s. However, based on the shows listed in the press release, it appears TeleXitos will at least for now focus mostly on TV shows from the 1980s. Those shows include Miami Vice, The A-Team, VIP, Xena: Warrior Princess, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, Homicide: Life On The Streets, and Ripley’s Believe It or Not.

Here’s a brief promotional spot for the new diginet:
