My A Year in TV Guide project has proven far more popular than I ever imagined. I guess I just had no idea much interest there is in old issues of TV Guide. I’ve mentioned Mitchel Hadley’s TV Guide write-ups over at It’s About TV a few times. He’s been digging into TV Guide issues since 2012. Now there’s a new player in the old TV Guide game.
YouTube user “deputay” has been posting old TV commercials for years and recently started an “Inside TV Guide” video review series. The reviews use scans to examine articles, listings and advertisements. Here are the first two reviews:
The best thing about TV Guide is that it’s been around so long that three different people can be examining and reviewing old issues and we probably don’t have to worry too much about covering the same issues.
