Lost in Space Trading Cards

According to its registry page at the Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA) website there are 55 cards in this set. It was released in 1966 by Topps. My collection of TV memorabilia includes just two of these cards which is unusual. I’m guessing the cards were sold in packs of eight or ten cards so why I have just two is a mystery.

Here they are:

Did you collect Lost in Space trading cards back in the 1960s? Were you able to collect the entire set?

  1. Interesting idea to meld publicity and production photos with an ongoing “story” on each card. The second photo was taken from the “Welcome Stranger” episode [10/20/65]- with guest star Warren Oates as “wandering astronaut” Jimmy Hapgood- where, at one point, Will fails to keep spraying Hapgood’s capsule to prevent alien spores from growing around it. One of the humongous plants almost winds up “eating” Penny!
