WNBT Schedule, Week of October 26th, 1941

Here’s the schedule for NBC’s commercial station WNBT in New York City for the week starting Sunday, October 26th, 1941, straight from daily television listings printed in The New York Times. The station was off the air on Thursday for reasons unknown, as was the case the previous two weeks.

Sports for the week included football on Sunday, boxing on Monday, wrestling on Tuesday, and another football game on Saturday.

I believe the film shown on Friday, October 31st — The Headleys at Home from 1938 — is considered a “lost film” today and no existing prints are known to exist. On the subject of movies, there was a program called “Old Time Movies” on Tuesday.

Highlights for the week included another “Believe It or Not” program, with Robert L. Ripley; and another “Radio City Matinee” on Wednesday, with guest Maj. Gen. James G. Harbord, Chairman of the Board of the Radio Corporation of America, which owned WNBT.

Other programs for the week included programs with WNBT regulars Jack Smith and Harvey Harding, plus Face of the War with Sam Cuff.
