Here’s a TV Guide Close-Up from December 1964 promoting “Carol for Another Christmas” on ABC:
“Carol for Another Christmas” was the first of four United Nations specials sponsored by Xerox to air on ABC in the mid-1960s. Rod Serling wrote the script while Joseph L. Mankiewicz served as producer and director. The cast included, among others, Sterling Hayden, Ben Gazzara, Peter Sellers, and Eva Marie Saint.
After its initial broadcast on ABC on December 28th, 1964, the special wasn’t seen again for almost 50 years until TCM aired it in December 2012.
This particular Close-Up is from the Western New England Edition of TV Guide. Channel 6 was WTEV in Northfield New Bedford, MA; Channel 7 was WNAC-TV in Boston, MA; Channel 8 was WNHC-TV in New Haven, CT; Channel 20 was WATR-TV in Waterbury, CT; and Channel 40 was WHYN-TV in Springfield, MA.

I saw this when it was on TCM a few years ago. With all the talent involved, I had high hopes, but I thought it was dull and talky.
TCM seems to have been running this annually. My bets are on this being on the cable network again in December.
WTEV was actually licensed to New Bedford, Massachusetts and served the Providence Market. It’s now WLNE.
You are right. I mixed it up with WRLP out of Northfield.
I saw this on TCM and though the allegory elements distracted me but I felt that it was a fine piece of work-for television and it is something that TV desperately needs nowadays.
